On 5 December 2016, Dr. Marianne Beisheim attended the UN-DESA Expert Group Meeting (EGM) in New York. The EGM tackled how the role of UN member states in the review of multi-stakeholder partnerships for implementing the 2030 Agenda could be strengthened. Marianne Beisheim was the main discussant for the session “Formulating an intergovernmental framework for monitoring and review of MSPs - The way forward”. Her input debated the respective roles of the General Assembly, ECOSOC, the HLPF, the Executive Boards, and independent third parties in monitoring and reviewing UN-associated partnerships.
