The Sustainable Development Goals require collaborative approaches. Several initiatives are currently under way, initiated and led by various stakeholders, at the global and national level, to strengthen the enabling environment for and increase the quantity and quality of partnerships. Such partnerships can be challenging.

As one of these initiatives, the initiative Promoting Effective Partnering (PEP) pools knowledge and experience of five initiating organisations and their networks to identify what it really takes to raise the bar for effective partnering. On the occasion of the launch its website, Dr. Anne Ellersiek was invited as a panelist to discuss the initiative at the Second High Level Meeting (HLM2) of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC), Nairobi, Kenya, 28 November – 1 December, 2016.
