Research Project C1 - Transnational Cooperation and the Provision of Security in the Context of Limited Statehood
The project analyses transnational co-operations between state and non-state actors in the context of limited statehood. In eight ethnographic, micro political case studies of local conflict arenas in Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan, we investigate if and how such external stabilisation strategies can work as "functional equivalents to statehood" that transform violent conflicts, provide security and promote local conflict managing.
