On October 17, Prof. Thomas Risse and Dr. Gregor Walter-Drop were invited to participate in a public expert discussion with the German Bundestag’s Subcommittee on Civilian Crisis Prevention, Conflict Management, and Coordinated Action.

The two principal investigators in the transfer project of the SFB 700 and the Federal Foreign Office took part in a discussion with committee members on “Dealing with Civilian Crisis Management in Areas of Limited Statehood – Recommendations for German Foreign Policy and the New Federal Guidelines on Civilian Crisis Management.” At the heart of the debate were topics such as early crisis recognition, interdepartmental coordination, knowledge management, and approaches to evaluating foreign engagement.
