Project overview

Up to now, research on remittances – the money transfers that migrants send to their families at home – has strongly concentrated on questions linked to poverty reduction and its socioeconomic effects. The project focuses on the potential contribution of remittances to financial sector development, and to their direct and indirect effects on macroeconomic stability.
