Biography
Anke Draude studied Cultural Sciences and Economics at the European University Viadrina, Frankfurt(Oder). She joined the SFB 700 at Freie Universität Berlin as a research associate in 2006. Her responsibility in the research project A1 comprises the transdisciplinary bridging between political, historical, and jurisprudential approaches to governance transfers as well as the identification of typical forms of translation and appropriation. A special focus is given to the dynamics of power within the in-between spaces of intercultural contact.
In July 2011, Anke Draude successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on a re-conceptualization of governance beyond eurocentrism (original title: “Die Vielfalt des Regierens. Eine Governance-Konzeption jenseits des Eurozentrismus”). In short, she designs a functionalist concept of governance which transcends state centrism and western thought patterns of conventional theories. Thus, it systematically opens up the whole spectrum of the provision of collective goods in areas of limited statehood for future empirical research.
